An old town occupying the isthmus in the center of Oshima, Oshima District, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The main settlement is Agenosho on the south bank, an old fishing port. Mandarin orange cultivation is thriving on the mountain slopes. There is a Chinese pear tree (a natural monument). In October 2004, it merged with Hisaka Town, Oshima Town, and Towa Town in Oshima District to form Suo-Oshima Town. 28.84 km2 . 5,765 people (2003).
