Dagobert I

Japanese: ダゴベルト[1世](英語表記)Dagobert I
Dagobert I
605 to 610-639
Merovingian king of the Franks. Reigned 623-638. In 623, he ruled Austrasia as Unterkönig under his father Chlothar II, with the support of the nobles Pepin I and Arnulf of Metz. After his father's death in 629, he became sole ruler and moved his court to Paris in Neustria. He appointed his brother Charibert as under-king in Aquitania and his bastard son Sigibert III as under-king in Austrasia, and ensured stability on the eastern and western borders. Together with his father, he brought the Merovingians to their zenith.
