Japanese: 滝川[市] - たきかわ

A city in central Hokkaido. It was incorporated as a city in 1958. It is located in the area where the Sorachi River joins the Ishikari River, and development has progressed since the establishment of the Tondenhei Village. The Hakodate Main Line and the Nemuro Main Line branch off here. With the surrounding coal mining towns and farming villages that were once thriving, commerce and the service industry have flourished. In recent years, industrial parks have been developed, and the Do-o Expressway was opened in 1988, and efforts are being made to attract companies in high-tech related industries. The city has a large amount of arable land and produces rice, soybeans, potatoes, onions, etc. 115.90 ^km2 . Population 43,170 (2010).

北海道中部の市。1958年市制。空知川が石狩川に合流する地域にあり，屯田兵村がおかれて以後開発が進んだ。函館本線と根室本線が分岐。かつて盛んであった付近の炭鉱都市や農村を背景として商業やサービス業が発展した。近年は工業団地が造成され，1988年には道央自動車道が開通，ハイテク関連産業などの企業誘致が進められている。耕地が広く，米，ダイズ，ジャガイモ，タマネギなどを産する。115.90km²。４万3170人（2010）。
