A profession in the pre-Taika period. Also written as Takayōbe. Engaged in raising, training and releasing falcons and dogs for hunting. In the entry for September of the 43rd year of the Nintoku era in the Nihon Shoki, there is an article about Emperor Nintoku hunting with a falcon trained by Sake-no-kimi, a member of the Baekje royal family, and in the same month, Taka-no-amabe was established. This tells us that the techniques of falconry and falconry were introduced from Baekje. Their residences were in Yamato, Kawachi, Settsu and Omi, but there was no Tomo no Miyatsuko (a chief priest) who oversaw the whole area, and they were led by Tomo no Miyatsuko for each region. The Tomo no Miyatsuko in Omi had the surnames Takayō-no-kimi and Kimi. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
