Parästhesie (English spelling) [Germany]
This term refers to abnormal sensations (paresthesia) that are observed when pathological changes caused by peripheral neuritis, myelitis, etc. are present in the sensory nerve pathways. These abnormal sensations occur when the pathological process itself is felt as a stimulus, or when such nerve pathways are stimulated, and include a burning sensation, a sense of forming, or the perception of abnormal pain.
