Direct mail

Direct mail
It is translated as direct mail advertising and is also called addressed advertising, but the more common usage is DM. Companies use mail to inform selected potential customers of the details of their products or services, aiming to promote sales, but it is also an important method in elections and public campaigns. The world's first direct mail specialist company is said to have appeared in Paris in 1864, but the era of direct mail began in 1872 when the Montgomery Ward Company began mail order sales in the United States, which later developed into sales by catalogue.
