Born August 17, 1869. After working as a professor at Buddhist University, he joined the Yorozu Choho newspaper in 1898. He later became editor-in-chief and advocated for the protection of constitutional government and the acquisition of universal suffrage. In 1925, he founded the Tokyo Daisei Shimbunsha newspaper company, where he became president and editor-in-chief. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1928 (elected six times, Rikken Minto Party). He passed away on October 14, 1939, at the age of 71. He was born in Echizen (Fukui Prefecture).
