Time capsule

Japanese: タイム･カプセル（英語表記）time capsule

The aim is to separate the achievements of modern civilization from the passage of time, put them in a container, and preserve them until the future (for example, 5,000 years from now), in order to provide a clue for people in the future to understand the present. Archaeological and historical ruins such as the tombs and temples of ancient Egypt can be seen as a kind of time capsule. The American company Westinghouse, which produced the world's first time capsule at the 1939 New York World's Fair, stated in its statement of purpose that it meant "for the time when people 5,000 years from now will be studying us, just as we study the culture of the Egyptian dynasty from 5,000 years ago."
