Abbreviation for Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning. In Japanese, it is called solvent extraction electrowinning. This technology was developed in the early 1960s and began to be used in actual production in 1969. It is used to recover copper from acidic extracts containing copper that have been dissolved from low-grade ores and waste rocks. A special organic solvent is added to the acidic extract containing copper and stirred, and copper is extracted with this solvent, which is then back-extracted to produce an acidic solution containing copper that can be electrolyzed. This acidic solution is then directly electrolyzed to obtain electrolytic copper. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning法の略。
