Phylum Echinodermata, Class Holothuria, Order Arborvitae, Family Ceratopodidae. The body is pentagonal with angular rows of tube feet, and is 10 cm long. The tube feet are long and arranged in two or three to four rows on each gait. There are ten tentacles, but the one on the ventral side is short. The skin has two layers of bone fragments with different shapes. It is found from central Honshu northwards, along the coast of Hokkaido, and along the coast of Canada.

棘皮動物門ナマコ綱樹手目キンコ科。体は管足の列の部分が角ばった五角柱状で,体長 10cm。管足は長く,各歩帯に2あるいは3~4列に並ぶ。触手は 10本あるが,腹側の1本は短い。皮膚にはそれぞれ形の異なる骨片が2層に並んでいる。本州中部以北,北海道沿岸,さらにカナダ沿岸にかけて分布する。
