〘noun〙① A method of examination for promotion to government officials under the Ritsuryo system. The Monto Hakase (chief examiner) would set the exam questions and have the examiners write answers in classical Chinese. Also, those answers. The Ritsuryo system stipulated that candidates for Shusai and Shinji be required to take the Hosei and Jiji sekaku exams, and after the Monjo Tokugosho system was established, this was imposed on those who wanted to become Monjo Tokugosho from Monjosho and those who had been Monjo Tokugosho for a certain number of years and whose grades had been recognized. ※Keikokushu (827) Preface: "17 poems, 917 poems, 51 prefaces, 38 countermeasures, divided into two books , organized into 22 volumes ." ※Utsubo (c. 970-999) Toshikage: "The same great works were written by the great works, and the great works were written as they came to mind, which were very interesting."
