Daien Calendar - Taienreki

A calendar system created by the Chinese monk Ichigyo during the Tang dynasty. It came into effect in 729. It adopted a solar year of 365.24440789 days and a lunar month of 29.53059 days. In Japan, the Giho calendar was abolished in 764 (Tenpyo Hoji 8) and the Daien calendar was implemented. After that, in 780 (Hōki 11), an imperial decree was issued to create a calendar based on the Goki calendar, but no one studied it, so the Daien calendar continued to be used. It was used in conjunction with the Goki calendar from 858 (Ten'an 2) for over 90 years.

中国、唐代の僧一行(いちぎょう)によってつくられた暦法。729年から施行された。太陽年として365.24440789日、朔望(さくぼう)月として29.53059日を採用する。日本では764年（天平宝字8）『儀鳳(ぎほう)暦』を廃して大衍暦を施行した。その後780年（宝亀11）『五紀暦』により暦をつくるよう勅令があったがそれを習学する者なく、結局、大衍暦が続行された。858年（天安2）から『五紀暦』と併用され、九十余年間にわたって用いられた。
