Sonoki-so

Japanese: 彼杵荘 - そのきのしょう

A manor of the Kujo family located in Sonogi County, Hizen Province. It is assumed to have covered the area of Nagasaki City, Nishisonogi County, Higashisonogi County, and Omura City. In 1250, Sonogi Manor was transferred from Kujo Michiie to his granddaughter Senninmon'in (Fujiwara no Hikoko, wife of Emperor Shijo) (Kujo family documents). Around 1264, Ninna-ji Temple in Kyoto was the main temple that adjudicated disputes within the manor, but this position was donated to Tofuku-ji Temple in Kyoto, the family temple of the Kujo family, at the end of the Kamakura period (Tofuku-ji documents). The Kujo family continued to hold the position of lord, and after Senninmon'in, it was passed on to the regent Kujo Moronori, who then passed it on to Dainagon Kujo Fusazane due to Moronori's illness, and it was then passed on to the Left General Kujo Michinori. In 1292, the order for the total number of fields for the construction of Kawakami Palace (Kawakami Shrine documents) stated that the number of fields was 412 cho 5 tan. The Fukahori clan, who were given the position of land steward in Tomachiura within the manor, had a long-term dispute with the Tomachi clan, a vassal of Hizen Province who were the sole land steward of Sonogi Manor, but the Mongol invasion triggered the division and allocation of land and positions (Fukahori documents). In 1333, Egushi Saburo Nyudo, who was based within the manor, raised an army in support of Prince Takayoshi, the first prince of Emperor Go-Daigo, but as the turmoil of the Northern and Southern Courts period progressed, the position of lord of the Kujo clan was given to the Fukahori clan as a military food source in 1374 and as a reward land in 1385, and it is thought that the main family and lord were not known.

肥前国彼杵郡に置かれた九条家領の荘園。長崎市・西彼杵郡・東彼杵郡・大村市にわたる範囲が想定される。1250年彼杵荘が九条道家から孫の宣仁門院（四条天皇妃藤原彦子）に譲られている（九条家文書）。1264年頃には京都仁和(にんな)寺が本家として荘内の相論を裁許しているが，この本家職は鎌倉末期には九条家菩提(ぼだい)寺の京都東福寺に寄進された（東福寺文書）。九条家は領家職を保持していくことになり，宣仁門院のあと関白九条師教(もろのり)に譲られ，師教の病気により大納言九条房実(ふさざね)に譲与，さらに左大将九条道教へと相伝されている。1292年の河上宮造営用途支配惣田数注文（河上神社文書）では田数412町５反。荘内戸町(とまち)浦の地頭職を与えられた深堀氏は彼杵荘惣地頭代である肥前国御家人の戸町氏と長期にわたって相論を続けるが，モンゴル襲来を契機に所領・所職の分割配分を行っていった（深堀文書）。1333年荘内に拠点を置く江串三郎入道が後醍醐天皇の一宮尊良(たかよし)親王を奉じて挙兵しているが，南北朝期の動乱が進展するなか，1374年に九条家の領家職が兵粮料所として，また1385年には恩賞地として深堀氏らに与えられており，本家・領家は不知行になっていたと考えられる。
