...They are sometimes called the Khoisan race. On the other hand, the pygmies are also called Negrillos, and are short, 137-159 cm tall, have yellowish-brown or light brown skin, brown eyes, a medium head (index 79), a long body and short legs, hair, and a face with a concave nose. Originally, most of the continent was occupied by the San and pygmies, but the forests along the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa were home to black people (Nigroids), and there were Cushitic people along the Red Sea in the northeast, Nilo-Saharan people in the upper reaches of the Nile River to the west, and people of Ham-Semite descent such as Berbers and Egyptians along the Mediterranean coast to the Arabian Peninsula.
