Anemometer

Japanese: 測風器 - そくふうき（英語表記）anemometer

Generally, it refers to an instrument that measures wind speed, direction, and pressure, but in meteorological observations, they are called anemometers, wind vanes, and wind pressure gauges, respectively, and are not called wind gauges. In mines, anemometers used to measure ventilation inside the tunnel are called anemometers, and are used to monitor whether fresh air is circulating. The amount of air in a tunnel is calculated by multiplying the wind speed by its cross-sectional area. Anemometers are used to measure this wind speed, and the most widely used type is the Biram type. These have aluminum blades around an axis, and the accumulated distance traveled by the wind is read off a pointer on a central scale depending on the number of rotations, while the measurement time is also measured to calculate the wind speed.

一般には風速，風向，風圧などを測る器械の意であるが，気象観測などでは，それぞれ風速計，風向計，風圧計といい，測風器とはいわない。鉱山では坑内の通気測定に用いる風速計を測風器とよび，新鮮な空気が回っているかどうかを監視する。坑道の風量は風速と断面積とをかけて求められる。この風速を測定するのに測風器が用いられ，ふつうビラム形が広く用いられている。これは，軸のまわりにアルミニウムの翼板を備え，その回転数によって風の通過した距離の積算が中央の目盛板の指針で読みとられ，同時に測定時間を測り風速を計算するものである。
