Izakuso - Izakunosho

Japanese:
Izakuso - Izakunosho

A manor from the Kamakura and Nanboku-cho periods located in the Fukiage district of Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture. It was part of the Satsuma side of Shimazu Manor. Under the Ritsuryo system, it was part of Ishaku County in Satsuma Province, and in the late Heian period it became a Shimazu Manor Yosegoori (half-free), but in 1187 (Bun'ei 3), Taira Shigezumi, a member of the Satsuma Taira clan and the governor of the county, donated it to Shimazu Manor as an entire territory (free and free to enter). It was called Ishaku Manor, meaning Ishaku, an entire manor within Shimazu Manor. The head of the manor was the Konoe family, the lord was Ichijoin, and the lower rank was a descendant of Shigezumi. According to the 1197 (Kenkyu 8) "Satsuma Province Map of Fields," the land area was 200 cho. The Shimazu clan, the shugo (military governor), were appointed as land stewards, and later Hisanaga became the first of the Shimazu clan, the Ishaku clan. From the mid-Kamakura period, disputes arose between the lord (actually the lower rank) and the land stewards, and in 1324 (Shochu 1), the Shitajichubun (Dividing the Land) was carried out.

However, in 1346 (Shohei 1, Sadawa 2), the lord's position at Isakura Manor was entrusted to the local lord, Isakura Shimazu, as a military provision tax office, and became his private property, and the manor was dissolved under the manor system.
