Japanese: 寄生虫アレルギー - きせいちゅうアレルギー（英語表記）parasite allergy

This refers to allergic reactions seen in people infected with parasites, especially helminths, and in researchers who often handle parasites. Richard Benedict Goldschmidt (1910) was the first to recognize allergic symptoms caused by parasites, and described how some zoologists studying roundworms in horses suffered from conjunctivitis, headaches, swelling and pain in the fingers, severe coughing attacks, and asthma symptoms. The reasons why allergic reactions occur due to parasitic infection include the fact that the parasite's body or secretions contain antigenic substances that act as allergens, and that infection easily induces helper T cells that effectively and persistently promote the production of IgE antibodies.

寄生虫とくに蠕虫（ぜんちゆう）感染者や寄生虫を取り扱う機会の多い研究者などにみられるアレルギー反応をさす。寄生虫によるアレルギー症状をはじめて認めたのはゴルトシュミットRichard Benedict Goldschmidt(1910)で，ウマカイチュウの研究をしている動物学者の中に結膜炎，頭痛，手指の腫張や痛み，激しい咳発作や喘息（ぜんそく）症状を示す者があることを記載している。寄生虫感染によってアレルギー反応が起こる理由としては，寄生虫の虫体あるいは分泌排出物中にアレルゲンとなる抗原物質が含まれていること，感染によってIgE抗体の産生を効果的かつ持続的に促すヘルパーT細胞が容易に誘導されてくることなどが挙げられる。
