A small accordion. A type of aerophone instrument. Also known as a hand organ. Invented by the Englishman Charles Wheatstone, he received a patent in 1829. It is hexagonal in shape, with buttons on either side that produce different sounds when pressed and pulled. It has a range of about four octaves. In England, it is used to accompany folk songs, and even today there are young groups that combine it with guitars and other instruments to perform folk dance tunes.
