Bipolar disorder

A type of mental illness. Also known as cyclothymia. Depressive hypokinetic states and exhilarating hyperkinetic states occur cyclically, either alone or in alternation. The length of the pathological period and the normal period in between are indefinite. Many patients have cyclothymia.
