...There is an anecdote (Koshi Yawa) that he was better than Yamada Kengyo in playing danmono. His disciples included Yamaki II, Yoshida Rendaiichi Kengyo, Kimura Chiyoichi Kengyo (originally a disciple of Yoshida), and Tamagawa Haginoichi Kengyo. From Kimura's school came Mochida Eiki, the teacher of the first Koshino Eisho, and from Tamagawa's school came Yamamuro Yasuyoshi, a kokyū performer of the Fujie school. In addition, from the school of Aoki Koto, a disciple of Kimura's younger brother, came Yamataki (Yamada Ki, Yamataki) Eishoichi Kengyo (later named Matsucho), who later switched to the Yamase school. ...
