Japanese: 夷堅志 - いけんし（英語表記）Yi-jian-zhi; I-chien-chih

A collection of tales from the Song dynasty in China. Compiled by Hong Mai of the Southern Song dynasty. Originally consisting of 420 volumes, only about 200 remain today. Completed around 1198. A record-style collection of strange, bizarre, and ghost stories that the author witnessed while on assignment or travelling around the country. Known as the "deep ocean of novels," this is a valuable historical resource that gives us a glimpse into the society, lives, and customs of the people of the Song dynasty that are not found in official history books.

中国，宋の説話集。南宋の洪邁 (こうまい) の撰。もと 420巻，現存は約 200巻。慶元4 (1198) 年頃成立。著者が各地に任官，または旅行の間に見聞した，宋初からの民間に伝わる珍談，奇談，怪談の類を記録風に綴ったもの。「小説の淵海」と称せられ，正式の史書にはみられない宋代の社会，民衆の生活，風俗などをうかがうことのできる貴重な史料。
