A general term for machines that make textile products. There are various machines for spinning and weaving animal and vegetable fibers such as cotton, linen, wool, and silk, and chemical fibers such as nylon and acetate. They can be broadly categorized into chemical fiber machines, spinning machines, looms, knitting machines, dyeing and finishing machines, and all of these have recently been improved and developed to be automated or to be used in a variety of ways.
