Born: October 16, 1679, Raunowitz Died December 22, 1745. A Bohemian composer from Dresden. He served Count Hartig in Prague until 1710, then moved to Dresden. He studied in Vienna and Venice from 1715 to 17. In 1721, he became assistant conductor of church music at the Dresden court. He excelled in contrapuntal techniques, and left behind 20 masses and other religious music and instrumental pieces.
