Also known as pediatric celiac disease. Celiac means "of the intestinal cavity." A childhood disease with four major symptoms: nutritional disorders, excessive and foul-smelling fatty stools, abdominal distension, and secondary vitamin deficiency. Patients show slow growth, poor weight gain, pale skin, and flaccid muscles, typical symptoms of malabsorption syndrome. The true cause of fatty stools is unknown, and the condition progresses chronically. Protein-rich foods, fresh vegetables, and fruits are provided, and vitamins A and D are supplemented.

小児脂肪便症ともいう。セリアックは「腸腔の」の意。栄養障害，悪臭のある大量の脂肪便，腹部膨満，2次性ビタミン欠乏症を四大主徴とする小児の疾患。患者は発育が遅れ，体重が増加せず，皮膚は蒼白で，筋肉は弛緩して，典型的な吸収不良症候群の症状を呈する。脂肪便の真の原因は不明で，慢性に経過する。蛋白質に富む食物，新鮮な野菜，果物などを与え，ビタミンA，Dの補給を行う。
