Sequoia National Park - Sequoia National Park (English name)

A national park in central-eastern California, United States, bordering Kings Canyon National Park to the north. Its area is 1,547 square kilometers. It was established in 1890. It is a park in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and is famous for being the natural habitat of rare sequoias, the tallest trees in the world, which flourished from the Jurassic Period of the Mesozoic Era to the Miocene Period of the Tertiary Period of the Cenozoic Era. There are about 35 sequoia forests in the park, and the giant trees grow thickly, blocking out the sunlight, making it dark even during the day. The largest tree in the park, the General Sherman tree, is about 83 meters tall and 11 meters in diameter, and is said to be 3,500 years old. In addition, there are canyons and caves in the Giant Forest, and Mount Whitney (4,418 meters), the highest peak in the United States outside of Alaska, stands tall. It is also valuable as a treasure trove of wildlife.
