Sekinomiya [town] - Sekinomiya
An old town in Yabu County, northwest of Hyogo Prefecture. Most of the area is mountainous, with settlements developed along the Yagi River, a tributary of the Maruyama River. Sekimiya, in the center, was a post town on the San'in Road. The town was home to the Nakaze Mine. It is the home of Tajima beef, and also cultivates highland vegetables and engages in greenhouse horticulture. Mount Hyonosen is on the western border. In April 2004, it merged with Yaka Town, Yabu Town, and Oya Town in Yabu County to form Yabu City. 95.59 km2 . Population 4,652 (2003).

兵庫県北西部,養父(やぶ)郡の旧町。大部分が山地で,円山(まるやま)川の支流八木川沿いに集落が発達,中心の関宮は山陰道の宿場町であった。中瀬(なかぜ)鉱山があった。但馬(たじま)牛の本場で,高冷地野菜栽培,施設園芸も行う。西境に氷ノ山(ひょうのせん)がある。2004年4月養父郡八鹿町,養父町,大屋町と合併し,養父市となる。95.59km2。4652人(2003)。
