A nationwide women's organization in China. Founded in 1949 as the All-China Housewives' Association, it changed its name to its current one in 1957. It initially aimed to achieve gender equality and women's liberation, and after the start of the Five-Year Plan, it expanded into various areas of socialist society construction.
