World Messianity - Sekai Kyuseikyo

Japanese:
World Messianity - Sekai Kyuseikyo
At one time, it was also called Kannonkyo or Messiahkyo. Its founder, Mokichi Okada (1882-1955), was born in Asakusa, Tokyo. Due to illness and business difficulties, he joined Omotokyo and served as branch chief, but left in 1934. The following year, he founded the Dai Nippon Kannonkai and performed the "Divine Spirit Shiatsu Therapy." In 1947, it changed its name to Nippon Kannonkyo, based in Atami, and in 1952, it became World Kyuseikyo. It claimed that Kannon had entered his body and that the power of Kannon radiated from his palms. It also called itself the Messiah and preached the construction of a heavenly kingdom on earth. It attracted attention for rejecting medicine as a poison and for advocating natural farming without fertilizer. It built art museums and the Crystal Hall in Hakone and Atami. Its headquarters is in Momoyama-cho, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
