Biogeographic region

Biogeographic region
A geographical division based on the characteristics of the biota in each region. It varies somewhat depending on the animal, plant, and taxonomic group, and is generally called a zoogeographical region for animals and a flora region for plants. Classically, taxonomic geographical divisions were made based on taxonomy, but in recent years ecological factors have also come to be taken into consideration. This is because the distribution of living things is both geographical (locational) and ecological (environmental). In addition, biological divisions of the oceans are also made based on marine life, ocean currents, water temperature zones, etc.
