〘Noun〙 ("mi" is a prefix)① A territory established since the Nara period to prepare fish, shellfish , and fruits for the Emperor to offer as offerings. There were many in the Kinai region, especially in Omi Province. It initially belonged to the Daizenshiki, but later came under the jurisdiction of the Naizenshi. *Sandai-kaku, 4th year of Enryaku (800), May 15th, "One Chief Kitchen Master in Chikuma"② A territory under the Kurodosho during the Heian period. *Kujo family's Engishiki Ura-bunsho, 3rd year of Kōhō (966), May 3rd, letter from Kiyotane-o, "The above Kurosaku has been divided into two provinces and one offering has been made. The four kitchens of Nagashima, Nakagawa, Oe, and Kamado have been brought."③ A building where sacred offerings are prepared. A place where food to be offered to the gods is cooked. ④ A building where sacred offerings are prepared for Ise Shrine in particular and where tributes are stored. [Koutai Jingu Ritual Record (804)]⑤ By extension, since the Heian period, it refers to land that offers sacred food to Ise Jingu. Many were established in the eastern provinces as well as in Ise and Shima. 〘名〙 (「み」は接頭語)① 奈良時代以来、天皇の供御(くご)の魚貝・果物類を調進するために設置された所領。畿内、特に近江国に多い。はじめ大膳職に属したが、のち内膳司の管轄に移った。※三代格‐四・延暦一九年(800)五月一五日「筑摩御厨長一人」② 平安時代、蔵人所の所領。※九条家本延喜式裏文書‐康保三年(966)五月三日・清胤王書状「右件黒作、如国定分已了、長嶋・仲河・小江・竈門四箇御厨持来已了」③ 神饌をととのえる建物。神に供える食物を調理する所。④ 特に、伊勢神宮の神饌を用意し、貢納物を収納する建物。〔皇太神宮儀式帳(804)〕⑤ 転じて、平安時代以来、伊勢神宮に神饌を貢進する所領。伊勢・志摩両国内のほか東国にも数多く置かれた。伊勢神宮を本所とする荘園の性格をもつ。※梁塵秘抄(1179頃)二「みくりやの最御崎、金剛浄土の連なごろ」⑥ 賀茂神社の神饌貢進のために諸国に置かれた所領。※百練抄‐寛治四年(1090)七月一三日「賀茂上下社被不輸田六百余町。為御供田。又分置御厨於諸国」⑦ 摂関家に食料として魚介類などを貢進する所領。※九条家文書‐建長二年(1250)一一月・九条道家惣処分状「前摂政〈略〉家領〈略〉伊勢国山郷庄、富田御厨〈寄進所〉」
