Ikaho [town] - Ikaho

Japanese: 伊香保[町] - いかほ

An old town in Kitagunma-gun, occupying the eastern slope of Mt. Haruna in central Gunma Prefecture. The hot spring town of Ikaho (sulfate spring, 42-52°C) is at its center, and the town has a unique streetscape with inns and shops clustered in a stepped pattern on the steep slope. Ikaho Shrine is located here, and a road runs from Shibukawa Station on the Joetsu Line between Ikaho and Haruna. In February 2006, it was incorporated into Shibukawa City along with Kitatachibana Village and Akagi Village in Seta-gun, and Komochi Village and Onokami Village in Kitagunma-gun. ^{22.32 km2} . 3,814 people (2003).

群馬県中部，榛名(はるな)山東斜面を占める北群馬郡の旧町。中心は伊香保温泉（硫酸塩泉，42〜52℃）の温泉街で，急斜面に階段状に旅館や商店が密集する特異な町並みを呈する。伊香保神社があり，上越線渋川駅から伊香保〜榛名間の道路が通じる。2006年２月勢多郡北橘村，赤城村，北群馬郡子持村，小野上村と渋川市へ編入。22.32km²。3814人（2003）。
