Dolce stil nuovo (new style)

Japanese: 清新体 - せいしんたい（英語表記）dolce stil nuovo

A style of poetry that emerged in the Tuscany region, centered around Florence, in the second half of the 13th century. Many of the poems have as their theme the correspondence between love for God and love for women. Representative poets include Guinizelli, G. Cavalcanti, Lapo Gianni, and Cino da Pistoia. The term "nouveau" was used by Dante in his Divine Comedy (24 cantos on Purgatory), and Dante himself was one of the representatives of the "nouveau" school, as can be seen in his early poetry collection, Nova.

13世紀後半フィレンツェを中心とするトスカナ地方に興った詩風。神に対する愛と女性に対する愛との照応を主題にするものが多い。代表的な詩人はグィニツェッリ，G.カバルカンティ，ラーポ・ジャンニ，チーノ・ダ・ピストイアなど。また「清新体」の呼称はダンテが『神曲』 (煉獄編 24歌) のなかで用いたものであり，ダンテ自身も初期の詩集『新生』にみられるように「清新体」派の代表者の一人であった。
