A monthly magazine (1900-30) written by Kanzo Uchimura. Uchimura's strong personality and ideas are reflected in his Bible lectures, commentaries, essays, and diary entries. Although other authors sometimes contributed articles, his strict judgment determined whether or not to accept them. The magazine was once titled "New Hope," but soon reverted to its old title. He interacted with readers throughout the country, and eventually readers began to interact with each other in various regions, which became the catalyst for the emergence of local non-church movements. In accordance with his will, the magazine ceased publication with issue 357. Non-churchism [Dohi Akio] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
