Sometimes translated as dynamic system. In the field of engineering, it refers to a type of mathematical model used to express the causal relationship of the behavior of plants, processes, machines, etc. that are the object of control. In the field of pure mathematics, dynamical systems are introduced by a definition based on stricter axioms, but in the world of engineering, they are introduced according to a convenient idea based on state variables as described below. That is, the vector x = ( x1 , ..., xn ) created by selecting appropriate physical quantities of the object of control is called the state vector, and when the behavior of the object of control is modeled by the relational equation dx / dt = Ax + Bu ... ( 1 ) y = Cx + Du ... ( 2 ) between this state vector and the set of input variables u = ( u1 , ... , ur ) and the set of output variables y = ( y1 , ... , ym), it is called a linear dynamical system.
