Born: December 5, 1894. Morgenson South African politician. Graduated from Grey University, the University of South Africa, and Columbia University. Served as Minister of Justice, Minister of Education, Arts and Science, Deputy Prime Minister and Speaker of the House of Representatives. Appointed Governor-General in 1960, he became the first president of the Republic in 1961, and resigned in 1967.
