Suwannee River

The Suwannee River is located at the base of the Florida peninsula in the United States. It is about 390 km long. It originates in the Okafenokee Swamp in southeastern Georgia, meanders southwest, and flows through the northern part of the Florida peninsula before emptying into the Gulf of Mexico. There are no large cities along the river, and it is not an important river route, but it is known for the song "Old Folks at Home" composed by S.C. Foster, which is the state song of Florida. アメリカ合衆国，フロリダ半島の付け根の部分を流れる川。延長約390km。ジョージア州南東部のオーカフィノーキー湿地に源を発し，大きく蛇行しながら南西に流れ，フロリダ半島北部を通って，メキシコ湾に注ぐ。この川の沿岸には大都市もなく，河川交通路としても重要ではないが，S.C.フォスター作曲の《スワニー川》(原題は《故郷の人々Old Folks at Home》)の歌で知られ，同曲はフロリダ州の州歌である。
