The Suwannee River is located at the base of the Florida peninsula in the United States. It is about 390 km long. It originates in the Okafenokee Swamp in southeastern Georgia, meanders southwest, and flows through the northern part of the Florida peninsula before emptying into the Gulf of Mexico. There are no large cities along the river, and it is not an important river route, but it is known for the song "Old Folks at Home" composed by S.C. Foster, which is the state song of Florida.
