This refers to the process of shaping the clay and firing the dried product (base) before applying the glaze. Or it refers to the product obtained by this process. In this state, the product has a certain degree of mechanical strength. However, it is still absorbent, making it easy to apply the glaze. The firing after applying the glaze is called honyaki.
