Year of death: August 19, 6th year of Kansei (September 12, 1794) Year of birth: Meiwa 1 (1764) Kanto Gundai in the late Edo period. Commonly known as Hanzaemon, Settsu no Kami, and Ukon no Shogen. The 11th son of Itakura Katsuzumi, lord of Matsuyama Domain in Bitchu Province (Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture). Later adopted by Ina Tadataka. In 1778 (An'ei 7), he succeeded the site and hereditary position of Gundai, and in 1784 (Tenmei 4), he came under the control of the Roju. The following year, he was made a senior Kanjo Ginmiyaku. In 1786, he was made a page head clerk, and in 1787, he was appointed Settsu no Kami. During his tenure as Gundai, he took measures against flood damage in Kanto and settled the Edo Destruction Disturbances. He was adept at providing relief to the poor and dealing with the rice shortage, and was active in spreading Shingaku. In 1791 (Kansei 3), he was ordered to be suspended due to internal conflict within his household. In the following year, he was temporarily pardoned, but in the same year, he was dismissed for misconduct in household affairs due to his adopted son Tadayoshi's desertion and other reasons. He served as Gundai for 13 years and 9 months. He had his fief of 3,960 koku confiscated, and was entrusted to his elder brother Katsumasa Itakura and then to Nobufusa Nanbu, where he died at the age of 31. His grave is in Kichijoji, Honkomagome, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.
