Born: 1546. Antwerp Died in 1611. Flemish painter. Court painter in Vienna and Prague. He produced many murals and small pieces with allegorical and mythological themes. His elegant Mannerist style, influenced by Parmigianino, had a great influence on northern painters through copperplate engravings. His works include "Vulcan and Maia" (1590, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna) and "Hercules and Omphales" (same museum).
