Achimota College

…Apart from Egypt and South Africa, there were only a few institutions of higher education in Africa before World War II. These were the University of Algiers in Algeria (founded in 1879), Fourah Bay College in Sierra Leone (founded in 1827), Achimota College in Ghana (founded in 1922, which offered a range of courses from kindergarten to university), and Makerere University in Uganda (founded in 1922).
