Masayuki Suzuki
1837-1871 A scholar of Japanese classics from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period.
Born in April 1830. Studied waka poetry under Kamiyama Natsura. Recognized by the Japanese scholar Ino Hidenori, after the Meiji Restoration he became a junior assistant professor at the university and a lecturer at the Jingikan mission. Died on April 21, 1871. Age 35. Born in Hanyu County, Shimousa (Chiba Prefecture). His name was Hajime Masayuki. His pen names included Kasumizan and Kasumido. His works include Tsukinosakaki and Amatsu Norito Ko.

天保(てんぽう)8年4月生まれ。和歌を神山魚貫(なつら)にまなぶ。国学者伊能頴則(いのう-ひでのり)にみとめられ,維新後,大学少助教,神祇官(じんぎかん)宣教使中講義生となった。明治4年4月21日死去。35歳。下総(しもうさ)埴生郡(千葉県)出身。名ははじめ昌之。号は霞山,霞堂など。著作に「撞賢木(つきのさかき)」「天津祝詞(あまつのりと)考」など。
