This hot spring is a national health resort located at the western foot of Mt. Hakkoda in the southeastern part of Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. In the Edo period, it was called Sugayu, and many people came to take care of the hot springs. It contains gypsum and has an acidic hydrogen sulfide spring. It is 50-60℃. It is said to be effective for skin diseases, and many people come to take care of the hot springs. There is an alpine botanical garden at the Hakkoda Botanical Experiment Station attached to Tohoku University.
