Sukabumi - Sukabumi (English spelling)

A city in western Java, Indonesia. It is located at an altitude of 602 meters on the southwest foot of Mount Gede Volcano. It has a population of 125,400 (1995), 1,301,873 (estimated for 2018). It developed as a highland resort with a pleasant climate. As the center of a Sundanese settlement, it is also home to the ruins of the former Padjajaran Kingdom. It is close to the coastal resort of Pelabuhan Ratu to the south, and the highland resort of Selabintana is nearby. It is a distribution center for the nearby high-quality rice, coffee, tea, and rubber. It is also home to the Central Police School.

インドネシア、ジャワ島西部の都市。ゲデ火山南西麓(なんせいろく)の標高602メートルに位置する。人口12万5400（1995）、130万1873（2018推計）。快適な気候をもつ高地休養地として発達した。スンダ人の居住地の中心として、かつてのパジャジャラン王国の遺跡などもある。南方のプラブハン・ラトゥーの海岸休養地も近く、また近郊にはスラビンタナの高原保養地もある。付近の良質の米、コーヒー、茶、ゴムの集散地。中央警察学校が置かれている。
