Olmeca

Japanese: Olmeca
Olmeca

The Olmec culture is characterized by clay and stone figurines of infant figures called "baby faces," human figures with jaguar claws, mouths, and eyebrows, megalithic human heads, stone carvings such as stone monuments and altars, jadeite carvings, complexes of buildings such as plazas and pyramid temples surrounding them, and tombs made of basalt columns. This urban culture is also thought to have been centered and born in an inhospitable environment of high temperature and humidity, which would make it an unusual culture in world history.
