Accompanying soldier. ※Konjaku (around 1120) vol. 17 "While he was already fighting, leading his escorts to attack the enemy." ※Santos no Onsakusho (1591) vol. 1 "He turned his back on the escorts, and pushed them away."② Armored mounted soldiers who accompanied the Kebiishi from the end of the Heian period to the Kamakura period. ※Efukan Shozokusho ( around 1314) "The escorts of the Kebiishi wore full armor, bore hats, and did not wield swords."③ In the Middle Ages, a warrior who was armed and provided guard on horseback before and after the procession of the shogun or nobles or when a portable shrine was carried.
