Japanese: 新日本製鉄[株] - しんにほんせいてつ

The correct pronunciation is "Shin Nippon Seitetsu." Established in March 1970 by the merger of Yawata Steel Corporation and Fuji Steel Corporation, it is Japan's largest integrated pig steel manufacturer, and its production scale exceeds that of US Steel, making it the number one in the world. The company has steelworks in Yawata, Tobata, Hirohata, Kamaishi, and Muroran, which have been in operation since before World War II, as well as Sakai, Nagoya, Oita, and Kimitsu, which were established after the war. The company's main products are bar bars, steel plates, and steel pipes, and it has a well-balanced production range. It also has a high share of rail production.

正しくは〈しんにっぽんせいてつ〉と発音する。1970年3月，八幡製鉄(株)と富士製鉄(株)が合併して成立した日本最大の銑鋼一貫生産メーカーで，生産規模はUSスチール社を上回って世界第1位である。同社の製鉄所は第2次大戦前から操業を続けている八幡，戸畑，広畑，釜石，室蘭のほか，戦後発足した堺，名古屋，大分，君津などであり，主要製品は条鋼，鋼板，鋼管などで，生産品種のバランスがとれている。またレール生産のシェアが高い。
