Japanese: アンフェタミン

1-phenylpropan-2-amine. C ₉ H ₁₃ N (135.20). C ₆ H ₅ CH ₂ (NH ₂ )CH ₃ . Also called benzedrine. A stimulant drug. It is produced by reducing the oxime of benzyl methyl ketone or by reacting it with formamide. It is a liquid with an amine odor. Boiling point: 200-203 °C. The sulfate (melting point: 320-322 °C, decomposition) is a white crystal that is easily soluble in water and has a stimulant effect on the central nervous system and sympathetic nervous system.
