Anthranilic Acid - Anthranilic Acid

o -aminobenzoic acid. C ₇ H ₇ NO ₂ (137.14). It is produced by the Hoffmann rearrangement of phthalimide or by the reduction of o -nitrobenzoic acid. In the body, it exists as vitamin L ₁ , produced from kynurenine by the action of kynureninase. Crystal. Melting point 145 °C. Soluble in hot water, ethanol, and ether. It exhibits acidic and basic properties. K _a 9.3 × 10 ^-6 (19 °C), K _b 6.3 × 10 ^-3 (25 °C). It is an intermediate in the metabolism of tryptophan. It also forms insoluble chelate compounds with metal ions such as cadmium and cobalt, and is used in the quantitative determination of these metal ions. It is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of dyes and pigments. [CAS 118-92-3]

o-aminobenzoic acid．C₇H₇NO₂(137.14)．フタルイミドのホフマン転位，あるいはo-ニトロ安息香酸の還元によってつくられる．生体内ではビタミン L₁ として存在し，キヌレニナーゼの作用によりキヌレニンからつくられる．結晶．融点145 ℃．熱水，エタノール，エーテルに可溶．酸性および塩基性を示す．K_a 9.3×10^－6(19 ℃)，K_b 6.3×10^－3(25 ℃)．トリプトファン代謝の中間物である．またカドミウム，コバルトなどの金属イオンと不溶性のキレート化合物をつくるので，これらの定量に用いられる．染料や顔料の合成の中間体としても用いられる．[CAS 118-92-3]
