Anthraquinone

C ₁₄ H ₈ O ₂ (208.22). In the broad sense, it refers to quinone derived from anthracene, and there are three isomers, 1,2-, 1,4-, and 9,10-anthraquinone, but it usually refers to 9,10-anthracenedione. It is produced by oxidizing anthracene, or by dehydrating and cyclizing o -benzoylbenzoic acid obtained by Friedel-Crafts condensation of phthalic anhydride and benzene. Pale yellow crystals. Melting point 286 °C, boiling point 382 °C. Sublimable. Dissolves in benzene, toluene, etc. when heated. When reduced, it produces anthrahydroquinone, anthrone, or anthracene, depending on the type of reducing agent. Anthraquinone is the parent compound of so-called anthraquinone dyes, and acid dyes and vat dyes are synthesized through various derivatives such as quinizarin, aminoanthraquinone, and benzoanthrone. _LD50 3500 mg/kg (rat, intraperitoneal). C₁₄H₈O₂(208.22)．広義では，アントラセンから誘導されるキノンをいい，1,2-，1,4-および9,10-アントラキノンの三つの異性体があるが，普通，9,10-アントラキノン(9,10-anthracenedione)をさす．アントラセンを酸化するか，無水フタル酸とベンゼンとのフリーデル-クラフツ縮合によって得られるo-ベンゾイル安息香酸を脱水閉環して製造される．淡黄色の結晶．融点286 ℃，沸点382 ℃．昇華性．ベンゼン，トルエンなどに熱時溶ける．還元すれば還元剤の種類によって，アントラヒドロキノン，アントロン，あるいはアントラセンを生じる．アントラキノンはいわゆるアントラキノン系染料の母体化合物で，キニザリン，アミノアントラキノン，ベンゾアントロンなど種々の誘導体を経て酸性染料，建染め染料が合成される．LD₅₀ 3500 mg/kg(ラット，腹腔内)．[CAS 84-65-1]
