It is a high-grade organic pigment derived from anthraquinone, and in general many of them are made by converting anthraquinone-derived vat dyes into pigments through a special pigmentation process. For example, indanthrene is a well-known blue vat dye, but as a fine powder it can be used as a high-grade blue pigment with various high fastnesses. アントラキノンから誘導される高級有機顔料であり，一般的にはアントラキノン誘導建染染料を特殊な顔料化法により顔料としたものが多い。たとえばインダンスレンは著名な青色建染染料であるが，微細な粉体として各種堅牢度の高い優れた高級青色顔料として使用することができる。この種の高級顔料の欠点は着色力がやや低いことである。【新井 吉衛】
